March Book Sale Information

Friday, March 16, 2018 - Friends will meet at the 6th Street Gym to set up at 8:30 A.M.
Members of the Friends may select books for purchase while unpacking and organizing.
Please bring brown paper bags to use as wrapping paper for books to give away at the St. Patrick's Day Parade to advertise the book sale.

Book Sale Volunteer Opportunities

We need 4 volunteers for each 3-hour time slot to staff the sale. You can modify the time slots to fit your convenience. The tough job is packing up the unsold books at the end of the sale. Please join us from 4:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday if you can. We usually finish by 5:30. Even if you do not sign up to work, you are welcome to help us at any time, especially on Saturday afternoon.

Time slots are as follows:

Friday, March 16, 2018
8:30 A.M. - Noon
Noon - 3:00 P.M.

Why the Library Needs Friends

Friends of Lake County Library raise money that enables our library to move from good to great-- providing the resources for additional programming, much needed equipment, support for children's summer reading and special events throughout the year.

The work of the Friends highlights on an on-going basis the fact that our library is the cornerstone of the community providing opportunities for all to engage in the joy of life-long learning and connect with the thoughts and ideas of others from ages past to the present.

Members of the Friends understand the critical importance of well funded libraries and advocate to ensure that our library gets the resources it needs to provide a wide variety of services to all ages including access to print and electronic materials, along with expert assistance in research, readers' advisory, and children's services.

The Friends' time and commitment to the library set an example for all in how volunteerism leads to positive civic engagement and the betterment of our community.
