About Winter Reading

Winter Reading isn't just about reading; our challenges will also include various activities such as crafts, utilizing our Library of Things, watching fun movies and using our online resources. Our goal with Winter Reading to help our community have some fun this winter, feel engaged, and maybe find some new collections in the library!

We are participating in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. "Read for a Better World" encourages readers of all ages to explore diversity, empathy, and action through literature and other activities. Our community has unlimited access to Lerner’s “Read for a Better World” themed books for the month of January through the challenge activities!

We challenge our library community to read at least 100,000 minutes total during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site.

**You may register anytime!!**

How to Participate

You have two options to participate:

1). For online tracking we will be using Beanstack. Go to lakecountypubliclibraryco.beanstack.org to register. You can either use the online version or download their free app. We are happy to help you get signed up and learn to navigate Beanstack!

2). You can also use good ol' fashioned paper as well if you prefer. Pick up a paper reading log in the library or download and print your age group challenge from below.
