Hi friends!

We're in full swing of fall and spooky season here at the library! Our first Crafty Hour pumpkin painting was a blast and we're looking forward to our other Halloween themed events: sew your own trick or treat bag on Friday the 18th and our crafty hour halloween party on Monday the 28th. We'll also be out on Trick or Treat Street on Sunday the 27th so don't forget to stop by and say hi! Keep an eye out for our staff ofrenda in celebration of Día de Muertos on November 2nd.

Moving into November we're excited to be hosting local author Amy Frykholm for a Meet the Author presentation on Saturday November 2nd at 11am. The first 10 people will receive a free copy of of her new book, High Hawk. Amy will be doing a reading, answering a Q&A, and doing a signing. Please come out and show your support for our fellow "Leadvillian" and her great achievement!

Don't forget--as the weather gets cold and we enter hibernation mode, your library card offers you many options beyond checking out books. We have games & crafting kits for nights that you want to do something a little more lively and we have tons of DVDs for that stay-on-the-couch-under-a-blanket-TV-binge times. We have all kinds of audio books if you're headed out on a road trip or like to go on long XC ski or snowshoe tours and need to be hands free. If you're more interested in current events, you can even get the New York Times through your library card! All that (and more!) come with your library card.

See you around town!
