The Lake County Public Library Trustees are appointed by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with the Colorado Library Law (Colorado Revised Statutes, Title 24, Article 90, Section 108). The Board's powers are defined in the Colorado Library Law.

The Board of Trustees for Lake County Public Library is currently accepting applications. Important Trustee activities include:

  • Board meeting attendance
  • Advocating for the library
  • Attending library programs
  • Participating in strategic planning

Board terms are 3 years with a maximum of 2 terms. 

Applicants should be at least 18 years of age and a permanent Lake County resident. You may send a letter of interest to trustee@lakecountypubliclibrary.org or:

Library Board of Trustee Meetings

The Library Board of Trustees meets once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Meeting are currently being held in the Leadville Room in the Library. Members of the public are welcome to attend, unless an executive session has been called.
