Tool Library Mission

The Tool Library (TL) has been made possible with a grant from the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), and in partnership with Lake County Build a Generation. The mission of the TL is to enrich the community by providing Lake Co. residents the tools to learn to carry out their own home repairs and projects.

How to check out tools:

Find the tool you want to check out. Click here to see what is currently available. We will be adding to the collection regularly. You may also search for tools in the search bar.

You may pick up tools any time we are open, but to ensure you have the tool that you need when you need it, you can schedule it. In the item record, click on the "Schedule Item" and choose the day you wish to pick up the tool. We recommend scheduling at least one day ahead.

TL Members may check out a maximum of 6 items at a time and may have them for 7 days with 1 renewal.

All tools are property of Lake County Public Library. Only the borrower is authorized to use the tools.

The Borrower agrees that if any borrowed tool becomes unsafe or in a state of disrepair, the borrower will immediately discontinue use of the tool and return it to the TL.

DO NOT return tools in the book drop. Your TL privileges will be revoked.

Damaged or Lost Materials:

If tools are lost or damaged beyond repair, TL Members will need to either pay the cost of the tool or buy an identical tool as a replacement.

Any damaged tools beyond normal wear and tear (such as scrapes, small dents, etc.) or that make the tool unusable will need to be either fixed or replaced. Assessment of damage will be on a case by case basis.

Overdue Policy:

All tools must be returned on time. Any TL Member who has overdue tools more than 3 times will have their membership revoked for 6 months.
